Description: In this workshop, participants will learn tips and tricks for creating effective and engaging graphics. Anyone who creates marketing materials, presents at conferences, designs posters and digital signs, or is interested in learning basic design guidelines for effective visuals can benefit from this workshop. This webinar is intended to get participants thinking with a critical design eye and emphasizes readability, organization, and attractiveness. Participants will learn the fundamentals of good design and come away with a list of free tools to put their ideas into practice.

Presenter:
Dana Haugh is responsible for the design, front-end development, and maintenance of the Yale medical library’s web presence, as well as leading the medical library’s communication and marketing efforts. She has been an active member of the library community for over ten years and has published and presented extensively on web design and marketing & outreach in libraries. She is currently a member of Core's ITAL Editorial Board and previously served on Core's Web Committee. She received her BA in English from Stony Brook University and MLS in Library Science from Queens College.
