ALSC offers a variety of annual, biennial, and one-time special events and trainings to support the professional development of those serving children and families in libraries.
ALSC's online courses provide a 'deep dive' into a particular area of the field. While learning from leaders in the content area, course participants join a small cohort to further their knowledge and practice.
Virtual Events & Webinars allow individuals serving children and families in libraries to find short, intensive dives into best practices, developing trends, current events, and other content to further audiences' knowledge in the field.
The ALSC Competencies for Librarians Serving Children in Libraries is the foundational document for the professional development of individuals serving children and families in libraries.
Throughout the year, ALSC accepts proposals for education programs at various ALA and ALSC events, as well as ALSC online courses and webinars. This is a great way to build presentation skills and share expertise!
