Friends of YALSA

Friends of YALSA (FOY) supports $15,095 in annual member grants, stipends, scholarships and awards. Since 2007, FOY has funded over $70,000 in member grants, stipends and scholarships, including YALSA's annual Spectrum Scholar, Emerging Leaders, and Library Advocacy Day stipend winners. YALSA's Leadership Endowment

Planned Giving

Many YALSA members spend their lives passionately involved in the library community and may find that including YALSA in their estate plan is the best way to carry on this lifelong commitment. Other YALSA Funds

William C. Morris Endowment

Established by the late William C. Morris, a publishing executive who championed libraries, the Bill Morris Endowment supports reading initiatives at YALSA, including Teen Read Week and the YA Services Symposium.

Margaret A. Edwards Trust

In 2014, the Margaret A. Edwards Trust turned over management of this fund to ALA/YALSA. Margaret Edwards was administrator of young adult programs at Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore for over thirty years. She spent her professional life bringing books and young adults together, pioneering outreach services for teens, and establishing a training program designed especially for librarians beginning their work with teens. As per Edwards wishes, the funds go to support the promotion of free reading for teens, especially those in socio-economically challenged areas.
