Conference Interviewing
If you plan to attend the ALA Midwinter and/or Annual Conferences, be sure you come to the ALA JobLIST Placement and Career Development Center to talk to employers. They are eager to talk to job seekers and will usually grant an interview on the spot. If they are busy at the time, they will schedule an interview for a time that is later in the conference. You are free to walk around the Placement Center and talk to any and/or all of the employers there. Visit the Recruiters at Conference page to see the list of employers for the upcoming conference.
During the conferences, the ALA JobLIST Placement and Career Development Center is usually located in the Convention Center, and normally open on Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. of the conference dates.
In addition to possibly interviewing, you can also get some tips on improving your interviewing skills by attending some of the workshops being held in the Placement Center during the ALA Conferences. Visit the Workshops at Conference page to see what sessions will be offered at the upcoming conference.
