About Journal of Intellectual Freedom and Privacy
The Journal of Intellectual Freedom and Privacy (JIFP) is the official journal of the Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF), an office of the American Library Association. Quarterly publications include substantive essays, peer-reviewed articles, legal briefs, court rulings, and book banning incidents. In addition, JIFP publishes book reviews, editorials, and reports from ALA Council committees on intellectual freedom and professional ethics.
The journal is an all-digital, online publication available both in HTML and PDF with the option to download and print. In May 2016, OIF began to publish JIFP as the successor publication to the Newsletter on Intellectual Freedom (archives available online).

Anyone who accesses JIFP through a known IP address is given automatic access to JIFP content. Subscribers will receive an email notification from OIF when a new issue is published. Institutions are encouraged to circulate the notice with their authorized users. In addition, each issue of JIFP is indexed with ProQuest and EBSCO.

Anyone can sign up to receive notifications when a new issue is published. Many institutions receive subscriptions; students, staff, and users with access are encouraged to receive a quarterly email notification to take advantage of their institutional access.
